Hi there 👋 This is Houston's fourth issue and here are the five exciting problems that we found this week:
Problem #1: "I really wish that there was an app or a site with quotes that were properly cited. I am tired of seeing every quote get attributed to Albert Einstein or Mark Twain when they clearly didn't say everything that's attributed to them. A better UI than brainyquotes or wikiquotes wouldn't hurt either."
Problem #2: "I’d love to fund (or be a customer of) a company/app that could take pics of my kids’ poop, rashes, eyes, etc. and tell me if there’s an issue. So much of diagnostics is visual, should be a trivial ML problem. Yes, I just texted my doctor brother a picture of my kids. 💩" via Josh Mohrer
Problem #3: "This week Instagram launched checkout. There’s a massive opportunity to help a new generation of creators and creatives more easily become entrepreneurs." These sellers will be phone-only, and there are no good CRMs and adjacent tools to help these creators manage their business. via David Ulevitch
Problem #4: "Don't you hate when you have to scroll 20min through Netflix to find something to watch? I've googled things to watch, but it's just blog posts with random movies so in the end is the same as spending time scrolling. It would be great to have a dedicated space to #1 discover great shows, and #2 find people that are interested in discussing the shows."
Problem #5: "It seems silly that if I buy coffee every day at the same place that I just can't buy a monthly subscription for coffee to get a discount. Maybe someone can build a service and sell it to small coffee shops or other restaurants that have a lot of repeat customers." via Scott Belsky
