Houston is live! Also Airbnb for Homeschooling to improve education?😳
Find great problems to solve.
Hi there 👋 This is Houston's seventh issue and here are the five interesting problems that we found this week:
I wish there were something like code-review as a service.
“I wish there were something like code-review as a service. Find talented engineers earning low U.S. dollar-denominated salaries, and pay them to review code. I would pay for that any day” via Austen Allred Someone just started something as a response to this.
Homeschooling is expensive, and there are a lot of logistics involved for parents
“The idea of Airbnb for homeschooling is brilliant. Lots of people can’t afford daycare. So pooling together to support homeschooling + daycare in other’s homes is a great idea. Essentially Airbnb for homeschooling with a tech enabled-centralized curriculum.” rephrased from Shervin Pishevar (Airbnb investor). Wonderschool is a startup in this space but the opportunity is massive.
It’s 2019, and the tools to run your own personal p&l, balance sheet, and cash flow statement are still utter 💩
Tittle says it all. “It’s 2019, and the tools to run your own personal p&l, balance sheet, and cash flow statement are still utter 💩. Who is solving this problem? Please don’t say Mint.” via Alex Taussig
I wish there were executive coaching for new grads (not just executives)
“Execs have resources and corporate support juniors don’t. Is there a market for a life/career/accountability coach service for junior and intermediate professionals? Could a lambda school type biz model work (i.e., X% of annual bonus/salary increase for N years).” There are several startups in the coaching space including BetterUp and Torch. However, they seem to focus on more senior people and do not operate on an income share model. via Breen Agnew
Keyword search is impossible in podcasts
I want “A podcasting app you could search keywords/ topics within the actual audio & pay tokens/ $ to podcasters for each episode you like.” The problem here is figuring a way to make podcasts searchable. Extending this functionality into SEO would make podcasts even more useful. via Mel Tal

Houston is live! We coded the first version overnight at YCombinator's hackathon so it's probably a little buggy. Please be patient with us haha. We would love to hear what you think and we will keep adding features in the upcoming weeks. The partners at YC gave us some great ideas and we think Houston can become something much bigger in the future(:
Thanks for showing us love on Twitter! Make sure to follow us if you haven't!
That's it for this week! If you're enjoying Houston please forward this email to a friend. Let find more great problems to solve(:
